A quote from Charlie Skinner, The Newsroom (via thisiswhathappenswhenimbored)
Neal: I know him. He’s just like me—he is me. Our fathers were both mechanics, not because it was their dream job, but because they knew there’s always work for mechanics. We’re both the eldest son, and have been taking care of our siblings for most of our lives. Neither of us will ever get a college degree. We’re both idealistic about the internet
Will: Keep talking.
Neal: I was on one of the trains. I was going to visit my aunt and the train had just left Liverpool Street and I was half asleep when the bomb exploded.
Will: What’d you see?
Neal: The car filled with smoke, people screaming, crying, praying. Finally an underground worker in an orange vest got to us and starting leading us out the tunnel into King Cross, and I pulled my cellphone out to called my dad but—
Will: There was no service, so you started filming it instead.
Neal: Right. And I got out. And I, you know, I uploaded it and I sent it to the new stations.
Will: And you knew then you weren’t going to be a mechanic.
