#I. LOVE. THIS. SCENE. #I love that Brennan is so clearly angry but she keeps her cool. She’s extremely direct but she’s not at all judgemental. I love how Finn responds to that. It’s like everyone has always thought he did it and plenty of people have implied that he did it but no ever came right up to him and said ‘Did you murder your stepfather.’ #I love that she believes him. Brennan needs to know the truth. About eveything. And usually she needs evidence to support that truth. But he looked her in the eyes and told her he didn’t kill his stepfather and she believed him. That’s so rare for her. Especially because she has no reason to trust Finn. I think it speaks volumes of her character progression. Especially considering since she lost Zack she’s tried to distance herself from her interns so that she didn’t have to feel that pain again if one of them were to leave or disappoint her again. But then she found that even distancing herself from them was pointless because Mr. Nigel-Murray left too and she felt that pain again. #I really look forward to more interaction between these two characters in the future because I’d love to see more of this kind of development with Brennan and I think that it is wonderful that she has bonded with Finn so quickly when it took her such a long time to ever feel she could rely on any of the others #I always saw Brennan’s relationship with Zack as quite motherly. I hope she can have a similar relationship with Finn. #For Finn too I think it was especially important the way she treated him in that room. She didn’t treat him like a child even though he’s only 18. She treated him more as an equal and I think that surprised Finn a little. Intellectually he’s treated as an adult but I think everyone around him still sees him as a child all the same. But to Brennan intelligence is the most important thing and the way she treats him is based on his equal intellectual standing with hers
